๐Ÿ’™ February - A Short Month With Lots to Love

Even though it has been a rainy February, we have had several evenings with beautiful sunsets. Palm trees, quiet water, and sunsets just go together. Even better than sunsets with palm trees and quiet water is sunset with good friends, don’t you agree?

We have had opportunity to join in celebrations. Antoni celebrated his 12th birthday at our house. Julissa and Henry’s daughter celebrated her first birthday in the empty lot behind their house, with 50 neighbourhood kids joining in the fun. Greicy and Nahun shared their first anniversary with us with an evening dinner on the beach.

School has begun for a few students. A small group of retired teachers/ friends from Canada enjoyed a visit to the Adventista school where we saw Antoni, Hannah and Grace in class. (After all, what else would retired teachers do on vacation?) It is strange not to have students coming to our house to do homework. One afternoon I was invited to come to Arezzi and Victor’s house to see how the kids are getting along.

Son Rise/Calvary Chapel church celebrated its 17th anniversary. Special music and a guest pastor as well as a beautiful cake made and decorated by Pastora Carolina were highlights of the celebration. We have been going to Son Rise for the 13 years we have been coming and going to Roatรกn. We think we were the longest attending people in attendance. Surprising to us, we were not the oldest!

I’ve put together a collage of some of the special people we have connected with recently. Each person is the reason we have come to Sandy Bay again and again. ๐Ÿ’™
