Cornerstones and Foundations

This is the cornerstone of our church at home in Canada - Emmanuel Congregational Church, Ridgetown which is celebrating its 36th anniversary this Sunday. If you are doing the math as you look at the date on the cornerstone  and it doesn't add up , the first 3 years of gathering was in various locations including the local arena and the Catholic school. In the same way, the English church we attend while in Roatan - RChurch -has also worshipped in various locations during its 15-plus years. Being a resort island, the gatherings have been in various resort conference or dining rooms. Many of the congregants are tourists visiting the island and other missionaries. Over time, the congregation has become larger and more diverse. Now as well as tourists it includes expats who live permanently on Roatan, as well as locals - Islanders and Spanish.  With God’s prompting, the elders and pastor of the church recognized it was time for a more permanent arrangement.  After much plann...
