| Colours in the Colonias - poinsettas grow so tall in the tropics |
It’s been three weeks that we’ve been here in Roatan. It seems like we just got here. It seems like we have been here forever.
Being out and about each day gives us many opportunities to connect with people. Some we have known since the first time we came here and some are new friends.
We were out for a visit one day and had confirmation that we have been here a long time. We stopped in to see Concepcion, a woman from SonRIse church in the early years. Larry was involved with a house-build for her. As we were getting ready to leave, we stopped to take a photo. Looking for a place to snap the photo, we noticed a picture frame on the wall with three pictures. Looking closer we saw that one of the photos showed Larry with Concepcion’s daughter, Leidy, from 2009. What a surprise! (and how sweet!) The photo we took this time was of Larry, Concepcion, and - Leidy’s little guy, James! Oh yes - we have been around a long time.

Back-to-School
By this time next week, all of the students we know should be back in school. For us, we have been busy with registrations for private school kids, and checking in with a few families with kids in the public school to ensure they have what they need. Larry does the big number things, and I get to shop.
 |
Registrations have taken place at the Adventist school, ALFA, and Instituto Roatan.

Steps
I have a collection of t-shirt pictures from the past few years. This year i am planning to take photos of some of the stairs/steps that I get to navigate. Here is a start:
 |
Visiting Francis requires a steady foot - narrow and no hand-rail; mud steps are great except when it rains; the steps up to Sandra's - "nice doggie...."
|
Special Moments
 |
| We found Meri at her work in West End; art experience at Ladies' Bible study; finally got to meet Baby Elizabeth |
Kid Time
 |
| Bubble time; Milli has grown into Laura's dress; rainy day friends. |
