Half-Time Show



This week marks the middle of our time here this session - already!  I thought I'd let you see how we've spent some of our time since we arrived mid-August.  Also, our last post showed us enjoying ourselves just a bit toooo much! So, sit back and this time you can enjoy -

 Predominately (hokey) country music from way, way back (think "Stand By Your Man"  and various 1 2  3     1 2  3    1 2  3   songs shared by the food place down the hill)  (Yes, in English???)   Weekends - music of various types from the nearby churches wafts through our windows.  Sometimes there is Battle of the Bands as speakers are cranked and pointed directly over our way.

The Highlights 

1. Son Rise Church

As there is much to-do about halftime shows this weekend, we are sending you one that is family-friendly and will give you all sorts of warm fuzzies as we share in pictures what we have been doing during the first weeks of our time back in Roatan.       These first weeks have been a time of preparations for back to school - registrations, shopping, and problem-solving. Larry has had some time for exploring the local hardware and lumber yards. Although the weather has not motivated beach time (Mr. Sun seems to have gone on vacation - "maybe next week" everyone says - again) there have been opportunities to return to a few local restaurants, and also share in family celebrations. Best of all, it has been a time to reconnect with friends and share our stories.  There have been lots of smiles and hugs, and lots of walking as we get out and about.  It's why we're here, and what we enjoy.  So Good to See You! Show and Tell - March 2026 👀

What are you looking at in the banner photo above?  It is one of my favourite pictures from this season. It was the last picture I took on the morning we were leaving Roatan. If you look across the beam on the deck and then up on the roof of the palapa you should be able to count 5 pelicans. Not grackles or roosters. Just happy-go-lucky pelicans. I wanted to collect some of my favourite pictures here and share them with you if you want to see.  I want to see them and review them again and again.  Mostly this is show - and a bit of tell. Fun With Friends Connecting is what we do. We always look forward to these times. Home Visits We are frequently invited to come visit. And so, we do! Who do you see? 📣 Tidings 📣

  Merry Christmas! I know it isn’t just me – 2025 has just zipped by as all of us have filled every moment with lots of activities and memories. We expect that each of you are looking forward to a full calendar of upcoming Christmas events and opportunities to create more memories before the year ends. Enjoy it all! We are sending TIDINGS. There have been so many times we have received news from Roatan this fall, and we want to share the news with you. We also want to catch you up on our plans to return in January, and what we hope to see and do while we are there.   To begin – fanfare - we want to congratulate Keliani on her graduation from grade 12. (picture above). We met Keliani in Kids’ Church when she was 6 years old. She is the oldest of six and takes on many responsibilities in her home. Completing grade 12 is such an accomplishment and we are so proud of her! Having that diploma in hand should make such a difference in her opportunities. The other students we sponsor ...
